More than 36,000 people have escaped Sudan's Kordofan region eastern part of Darfur starting Saturday, as stated by the UN's immigration body.

The key central region between the country's Darfur areas and the capital region has in recent weeks become the latest battleground in the 24-month civil conflict between the Sudanese armed forces and the militia group.

Substantial Exodus Figures

An calculated 36,825 people evacuated from five districts in North Kordofan region between 26 October and 31 October, according to the International Organization for Migration.

The people, most on foot, moved toward Tawila, a town west of El Fasher that is currently accommodating in excess of 652,000 evacuated individuals.

Increased Forces Deployment

Residents of North Kordofan on Monday reported a substantial rise in both RSF and army presence across towns and villages throughout the state.

Both military groups are contesting control of El Obeid, the North Kordofan state capital and a important strategic and command center that connects Darfur to Khartoum.

"Today, all our forces have assembled at the Bara front here," commented an RSF member in a recently shared video declaration.

Regional Inhabitants Report Safety Fears

A resident of Um Smeima, located west of El Obeid, stated that the number of RSF vehicles had grown substantially since the group's seizure of El Fasher.

"We discontinued traveling to our farms, afraid of fighting," the local stated.

Another civilian, who requested anonymity for safety concerns, also indicated that "there has been a significant rise in army vehicles and weapons west and south of El Obeid" over the last fourteen days.

Global Concerns and Requests

A senior UN official raised the alarm last week about "widespread abuses" and "ethnically motivated reprisals" by RSF in Bara.

The diplomat warned of patterns similar to those in Darfur, where RSF fighters have been charged with mass killings, sexual violence and abductions against certain racial groups.

The spiritual head on Sunday urged an quick cessation of hostilities and the creation of humanitarian corridors in Sudan, declaring that attacks on civilians and impediments to humanitarian aid "are causing unacceptable suffering."

Sudan's diplomatic representative to Egypt on Sunday alleged RSF of carrying out war crimes in El Fasher and declared that the Sudanese government would not negotiate with the armed faction.

The representative further urged the world nations to designate the group as a terrorist group.
